> PhD lockdown exchange

From January to June 2020, Natalia Tobon (CIMAT) and Lizabeth Peñoza Velasco (UNAM) spend six months in Bath as part of a PhD exchange programme supported by SAMBa and the University of Bath, respectively. Natalia was supervised by Marcel Ortgise looking at contact processes on random graphs and Lizabeth by Andreas Kyprianou and Tim Rogers on seedbank models. Unfortunately the panedemic hit a couple of months after their arrival and, like there rest of the country, they went into lockdown. Both chose to stay in Bath through the pandemic for the duration of their placements and experienced life in the UK through their respective support bubbles that they formed with other students.
