Objectives

Today, air pollution provides one of the greatest threats to global health. Among the many problems encountered when assessing exposures and associated risks, obtaining accurate information where there is a lack of reliable monitoring networks is an area tin which mathematical and statistical methods are able to provide answers when assessing future trends and the potenital effects of policies aimed at reducing risks to health.   The purpose of this event is to highlight how mathematical techniques can be used to model the complex relationships between air pollution and health and to predict the effects of prevention strategies. By promoting interaction between national authorities and the academic community the event will showcase  the important role that mathematics can play in tackling this worldwide problem.
